ABOUT
The Centre for Finance, Technology and Economics at Keio (FinTEK) is an institution for interdisciplinary research and education in fintech. Our aim is to promote pioneering research using information and communications technology, cryptology, economic theory and data science, and provide policy recommendations as well as empirical evidence on fintech’s social and economic implications. For this purpose, we cooperate with other faculties and graduate schools at Keio as well as research institutions around the world, and work closely with financial institutions, technology companies and start-ups as well as governmental agencies.

RESEARCH ACTIVITIES
- Academic research on fintech and related fields
- Commissioned research with financial institutions, fintech start-ups and other businesses
- Collaboration with universities and research institutes in Japan and overseas
- Hosting international fintech-related conferences
- Hosting regular workshops and seminars on fintech
EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES
- Providing educational courses on fintech in cooperation with businesses
- Providing fintech education in English to students in PEARL and other all-English programmes at Keio University
- Hosting fintech career fairs
- Helping students apply for internships at fintech-related businesses
- Providing courses on computer programming
- Hosting hackathons and business contests
OTHER ACTIVITIES
- Hosting lectures and symposia featuring fintech practitioners and entrepreneurs active in Japan and overseas
- Hosting open seminars on fintech
- Cooperation with fintech-related events sponsored by the Japanese government, municipal governments and other entities
